Bookends & Beginnings

Bookends & Beginnings is an independent bookstore in Evanston, IL. In February of 2023 we moved from our original alley location and are now housed in a more visible location at 1620 Orrington Avenue in the heart of downtown. We feature a broad selection of new and used books, including classics, contemporary fiction, general and scholarly nonfiction, and kids' books with specialties in food/cooking. We also carry stationery items including the whole rainbow of Leuchtturm 1917 journals, small-batch greeting cards, pens, puzzles, and chocolate truffles. Our physical store is built for browsing and encourages you to take an hour or two off from your plugged-in life. Plus you can purchase a glass of wine or a cocktail at our downstairs MiniBar!
